Gazette Builder is built around a simple idea: every important element of a world is an Entry.
An Entry might describe a place, a person, an organization, a culture, a technology, a creature, a document, an event, or something unique to your setting. Each Entry has its own article content, optional image, summary, dates, relationships, and other metadata.
Entry Types tell Gazette Builder what kind of thing an Entry represents.
Gazette Builder includes useful starting types such as:
- Location
- Character
- Organization
- Culture
- Technology
- Creature
- Vessel
- Document
- Artifact
- Event
- Reference
- Story
But Entry Types are dynamic. If your setting needs Alien, Planet, Religion, Dynasty, Spell, Corporation, or anything else, you can create that type without changing the plugin.
Entry Types do more than label content. They help Gazette Builder organize and present the world by controlling things such as indexes, sorting, styling, and which semantic relationships are appropriate between Entries.
Each Entry can also carry supporting metadata where needed, including:
- a stable Entry ID;
- Summary;
- Campaign Date;
- Timeline Sort value;
- Release Date;
- Featured Media;
- Derived From relationship;
- Story ID and Sequence Position;
- Story presentation text.
