Holy Grail Inn

Description:

The wharf district is home to a fine eating establishment known as the "Holy Grail Inn". A modest wooden building, three stories high, the stone ground floor serves as both a tavern and eating establishment. The inn is famous because no two drinking vessels are the same. This curious fact stems from the great quests for the cup known as the holy grail. None seem to have found it, but all the pottery, metal work and other varieties of cups seem to have found their way into the hands of the proprietor of the inn. His use of the great variety seems to be a fitting end to the great finds of these noble quests. If a traveler hangs out here long enough, he will find a story for many of the cups told by amateur and expert alike. All of which lead to a hearty bit of debate after the story has been told.

Proprietor:

The proprietor of the Grail is Arthur Pendragon, a retired paladin of some fame. His great singing sword hangs over the bar from which he surveys his customers. A broad chested human, he still holds much of his fighting man stature, although his blondish hair has gone grey around his temples. Occasional arm wrestling competitions are given to worthy opponents with satisfying results for the old fellow and his customer's as well. Finding an opponent with skill and strength enough to beat himself without magical aids, he most often celebrates his new found friendship with a round of free drinks for the house. Of course, the looser often-times also finds himself buying a round... making this particular pastime a very popular one with the customers.
