Armstrong's Moontel

Description:

This unique structure sports a central dome that covers a large common room, soaring above the floor 4 floors in height. Two wings off of the main room give the inn 50 rooms for guests. The inn is an especially favorite one for merchants of the city to gather in after a busy day to unwind. It is typically crowded most evenings, almost every day of the week.

The great dome over the common room is as much a spectacle as anything else about this inn. Great dragons and heroes battle in mosaic tiles inlayed on the round dome. The background of dark sky and stars, with round globes of different worlds gives hints of a heavenly battle of some ancient time. The worlds contain too little detail to determine their origins and the builder/artist has long since turned to dust, so the question lingers as to what the mosaic is intended to represent. The flicker of candlelight from the floor below lend an eerie life to the bright tiles in the ceiling above. Many a guest can be caught head bent back, staring at the great shapes above.

Proprietor:

The owner/operator is Neddy Armstrong, a fine white-skinned elf. Tall and thin, Neddy hints of having a magic background. His bartending further confirms his knack for magic although he claims never to have trained in that art. Strange occurrences in times of stress have given him the title of "wizard" even though he lays no official claim to it. Those who have witnessed his dealings with trouble-causers and the like have to wonder if he isn't secretly a wizard in abilities and just has had no reason to make that public knowledge.
