Brugge is a free city. It's government is under the care of its elected burghers. Each major guild in the city elects one member of the representative body who are then tasked with the maintenance of the city order.

The elected burghers administer the city from offices located in the great Burghermeister Hall located on the southern side of town.

The city of Brugge is also a member of the City States of Eporue, a coalition of towns in southern Eporue that share their regions defenses against incursions from the Quad City alliance in the north and any others who may send military forces into their lands.
