The city of Baile Atha Cliath is a interesting city reknowned for its unique nooks and crannies, tight little streets suitable for dwarves and halflings but confining for elven and human folk. It is said that the fairy folk also can be found in the streets of Baile Atha Cliath, one of the only cities in Metaphaze where this occurs. The city sits on the south-side of the Dnaleri island continent. It is a small port city quaint in sites and vistas.

The wharf district of Baile Atha Cliath is like the rest of the city. Formed of small intimate dock areas that cater to the various guilds who traffic their goods through them. The merchants who frequent the city are well aware of the docking policies and strange requirements of the docks in general. Unaware captains who inadvertently dock at a guild dock can be fined for their indiscretions and in severe cases, have their cargos impounded by the offended guild. The wary captain is one who has knowledge and experience with the city's dock guilds.
Baile Atha Cliath as a trading center is bustling and average. The restrictions placed on the offloading and loading of products provide enough red-tape for captains of merchant vessles that they must have a good cargo or steady contract with the guilds to pursue their craft in the city. The contryside is fine for farming and many small farms dot the contryside throughout the land of Dnaleri. Much of the foods and other goods grown on these farms eventually finds itself being sold in the streets of Baile Atha Cliath.
Its main exports are bags and chickens. Because of the heavy chicken export industry, the city has the nickname of "Bauk A Cluck" city and many of the locals look with disdain on visitors who insist on refering to the city by this nomenclature.
Its main import is phosphorus.
Baile Atha Cliath is one of the cities where humans and elves are in a minority. It has a heavy population of halflings and dwarves. The ratios are split about evenly between the halfling and dwarves in the city and they represent almost 90% of the total city population. Because of this heavy dominance of the shorter races, the elven and human visitors to the city may find it quite cramped. Rangers of these particular classes cannot stand to be in the city with its close walls and low ceilings.

Medlin Montgomery, Bonecarver, is a very astute dwarf, middle-aged by dwarven standards. Medlin runs a small shop near the wharf district and carves almost anything that can be carved with a knife. His work is very life-like and many wizards seek out his work for magical figurines and the like.
Peter Wolfe, Bowyer, is a sharp-witted, well dressed halfling. His bow work is some of the finest in the world of Metaphaze. His specialty is short-bows and many of his bows made with the right wood and his skill are said to be almost magical in functionality.
Ichabad Reilly, Armorer, a dwarven blacksmith with a surly attitude is by far the cities formost expert on armor and quality accrotrements for protection. His armor will almost always be better than that made by normal armories.
Baile Atha Cliath falls under the authority of the king of Dnaleri.
